Educate Students on the Risks of Alcohol and Other Drug Misuse
Alcohol misuse is still one of the most pressing issues in higher education.
While the number of incoming non-drinkers or abstainers has increased significantly over the past 15-plus years, the overall high-risk drinking rate among college students has remained steady, and alcohol and other substances continue to negatively impact student well-being.
Our survey found that:
- During the past year, 49% of college students have consumed alcohol.
- 75% of college students choose to drink to have a good time with friends.
- 66% of college students see no need to change the way they drink alcohol.
